Individual Taxes

Individual Income taxes are our specialty. We spend countless hours every year updating our tax knowledge to make sense of the tax code so you don’t have to. If you need your income taxes completed and filed, we are the people to do it for you.

We prefer to work by appointment, but we are more than happy to accommodate walk in customers.

Business Taxes

Every business in Hayward has multiple tax obligations. Between the City, County, State, and Federal governments keeping track of them can be a full time job. This is where we come in. We’re a family business that has been operating for more than 20 years. We understand small business and the need to keep costs down.

At the same time we believe it’s more important to do work correctly than cheaply. While we are likely not the cheapest place in town to get your S Corporation or Partnership return prepared, we guarantee our work.

As a business owner we understand your time is valuable. Therefore, we prefer to work business issues by appointment.

IRS and State Audit Representation

The IRS and various state tax authorities send out millions of letters every year, receiving one does not necessarily mean you are in the wrong. We’ve spent quite a bit of time dealing with tax authorities on behalf of various taxpayers and we recommend you don’t challenge the government alone.

IRS audits (a.k.a. examinations) are a fairly common occurrence in the relatively wealthy Bay Area. If you are contacted by the IRS, we highly recommend that you exercise your right to representation and engage one of the Enrolled Agents (EAs) we keep on staff to represent you. The experience and expert knowledge they provide could prove vital to ensuring a favorable outcome for you.

We’re accountants; we understand your attachment to your hard earned dollars. Our EAs offer a free 30 minute consultation to review your tax case and advise you on how to proceed. For example, if we review a CP-2000 from the IRS and determine you only need to mail a form you already have, we’ll tell you which one and send you on your way. On the other hand, if you come in with a case we believe could benefit from a hands on approach; we will immediately begin working on a strategy to win your case.

All is not lost if you’re past the examination stage and have already received a bill. We can represent you before the appeals and the collections divisions too.

In case you’re wondering what an Enrolled Agent is or what we do:

EAs are federally authorized tax practitioners who have technical expertise in the field of taxation and are empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent you in front of all branches of the Internal Revenue Service (examinations, collections, and appeals).

Only Enrolled Agents, attorneys, and CPAs have unrestricted practice rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. Also, only Enrolled Agents are required to demonstrate to the IRS their competence in matters of taxation before they may represent a taxpayer before the IRS. Unlike attorneys and CPAs, who may or may not choose to specialize in taxes, all Enrolled Agents specialize in taxation.
